Nordic research in green energy in sparsely populated areas has led to the Nólsoy project, which explores how wind power can be stored in warm water. Large storage containers are needed to store wind energy in warm water. The aim of the project is to reduce the necessary storage volume by developing solid-state storage. Partners from the Faroes, the Shetlands and Iceland conduct the project.
