Geoparks

The project seeks to create an attractive tourism option and a booking system for both local players in the NORA region and its neighbouring countries. This will be accomplished by promoting the development of geo-tourism in Norway, Iceland, Scotland and Canada through the UNESCO sponsored “Global Geoparks Network.” A geopark is an area, which shows visitors the geological conditions that e.g. have influenced culture, biodiversity, agriculture and industry. The project aims to develop tourism packages for the four participating geoparks and an online portal, where potential customers can find information on and offers for these packages.
