In this long-running project, the partners have explored the possibilities for berry production in Iceland, Greenland and the Faroes. Using newly developed plastic tunnels and hardy berry sorts, the berries’ tenacity in relation to vast amounts of snow, frost and wind has been tested. In Iceland commercial production has commenced. In Greenland and the Faroes sturdier equipment is needed in order to withstand the harsh climate.
